Fun with Grammy and Pop-A-Lops

I have gotten so hopelessly behind in blogging this year! It's probably not going to get any better until at least May either since we are going to Mt. Olive to see family for Easter all of next week and then lots of company and Reagan's birthday in April. Maybe I'll get caught up some day! :)
~
In the meantime here's the rest of our trip to Tennessee at the end of January. I got sick on Thursday and they also got a big snowstorm while we were there so we didn't get to see as many people as I had hoped. The girls had lots of fun with Grammy and Pop-A-Lops over the weekend. Grammy was nice enough to use her snow day on Monday to run us home. Thank you guys for everything!

Since I wasn't feeling well Grammy and Pop-A-Lops volunteered to take the girls out to enjoy some fun sledding. Grammy said Kennedy was so funny saying "Wow!" and giggling all the way while they sledded down their hills in their neighborhood. Thanks for helping the girls have fun in the snow! :)
I love Kennedy's sweet smile looking up at Grammy and Pop-A-Lops in this picture! :)
I don't know what Pop-A-Lops and Reagan are doing in this picture but it's the best I've got. Actually there was one other really awesome picture of Grammy, Reagan and Kennedy but it was pretty goofy of Pop-A-Lops. Sometimes it's as hard to get a good picture of the adults as it is of the kids. lol :)
Pop-A-Lops frequently made breakfast for us when we were growing up. One of the things I always remember him making, epsecially on the weekends was Blueberry Muffins. He still makes these frequently for us when we're visiting them and will make them for us by request even when he's visiting us. :) During our visit Pop-A-Lops decided to make them with the girls. I didn't realize what he was doing so I missed the beginning of the process but I did catch a few pictures of the girls helping Pop-A-Lops with his famous Blueberry Muffins! :)

Helping Pop-A-Lops put the Blueberry Muffins in the oven

Enjoying their yummy Blueberry Muffins and all that hard work! :)

Another morning Grammy decided it was time to make cupcakes for breakfast. She had found a super cute Snowman cupcake mix set which came with fun decorations. Here the girls are helping Grammy dump in all the ingredients.
Mixing the ingredients together
Time for Grammy to get some real mixing done. :) This was Kennedy's first experience with a mixer. It was blowing a lot of air at her and she was making some pretty funny faces. I don't think she was quite sure what to think about it. lol :)
Ready to bake the cupcakes
Enjoying licking the beaters

Pop-A-Lops teaching the girls how to use their fingers to get every last drop off the beaters :)
Since we were having cupcakes for breakfast I guess it was only fitting to have chocolate candy for an appetizer while we waited for the cupcakes to bake...

Reagan busy icing the cupcakes - this actually turned out to be a bad idea. While the Snowman cupcake mix was yummy the icing the kit came with was disgusting. Reagan took one bite and spit it out. It was pretty funny. I accidentally deleted the pictures from my camera wondering why/how I had gotten such awful pictures of Reagan. Only afterwards did I remember it was because she was eating yucky icing... Since the cupcakes were yummy we left most of them uniced to enjoy. You can see the girls had fun decorating them before we discovered the icing wasn't so hot. :)
Kennedy throughly enjoyed her first cupcake decorating experience!!! lol :)

Discussing the finer points of decorating cupcakes

Thank you for everyone for everything during our visit! Especially to Grammy and Pop-A-Lops who take care of us while I was so sick. It was nice to see everyone we did and we're sorry for those we missed due to illness and inclement weather! I'm also sorry we didn't get any pictures with the Sligers who we did see Wednesday evening. I somehow left my camera at Grammy's house but we had an awesome time and enjoyed a delicious dessert! We also had a nice visit with Aunt MaryAnn but those pictures didn't turn out so well... Thanks again to everyone!
