Somehow I forgot to do this post before our trip to Mount Olive posts. Oh well... I'll blame it on a pregnant brain! lol :) Anyhoo... at the end of July the girls and I headed to the Louisville Zoo. The girls always love the zoo and we hadn't taken advantage of the splash park that is available during the summers this year. We also wanted to check out the visiting dinasaur exhibit that was there this spring and summer.
~
I had to snap this shot as we were getting ready to go since Kennedy had selected and put on these sunglasses all by herself before leaving the house.

Reagan had a blast on the water slides!

Kennedy was pretty unsure about the entire splash zone - slides, fountains (large and small), water, everything seemed to make her a bit nervous bless her heart!

Reagan on the other hand throughly enjoyed everything!

After timidly walking around for a bit Kennedy would head back to the stroller to watch all the wild and craziness

After we finished up at the water park we headed over to see the dinosaurs. Reagan loved it but most everything scared poor Kennedy. Most everything had basic movements and noises so it was pretty cool, just wish Missy K could have enjoyed it too!

The girls with the big T-Rex

At the end of the dinosaur exhibit there was an area where kids could be archaeologists and dig for dinosaur bones. Reagan loved it and you guessed it Kennedy didn't want to leave the stroller...

Eventually Kennedy decided to come to the very edge of the area since Reagan and I brought some things for her to dig with right to the very edge.

The weather was super super hot and humid. I had thought it was supposed to be a bit cooler the day we went but either the forecast was wrong or a bit cooler was still way too hot! In anycase we decided to enjoy some ice cream after the dinosaur exhibit.

I think I've mentioned before that the Louisville Zoo has quite a few neat play areas for the kids to enjoy. It's a lot of fun and we always spend some time at them. This is probably the largest area and you can barely see both girls taking off for great adventures. At last Kennedy found an area she could enjoy!

Or not... back to the stroller we go... On the brightside, at least she was throughly enjoying her time on the stroller! lol :)

Another reason we wanted to visit the zoo was because they had just rebuilt and reopened the Sea Lion exhibit. We stopped to enjoy one of the afternoon shows/feedings.

The kids enjoyed watching the Sea Lion show right by the fence where the best part was being splashed by the large male, Bart. When they got splashed the first time Reagan wasn't expecting it and almost got mad before deciding it was super funny and wanted Bart to keep coming back to splash them. lol :)

One of our favotite animals are the giraffes and the girls really wanted to see them before we left the zoo.

On our way out they also wanted to stop and play on this rhino.

We had lots of fun at the zoo but I have to admit I underestimated the difficulty of taking them to the splash park by myself 7 1/2 mon pregnant. I'm still glad we went, however, especially after looking back through all our pictures and seeing some super cute smiles. :)
