Southern Lights - Kentucky Horse Park

Saturday evening, November 27, after Kennedy's birthday party, we went to the Kentucky Horse Park to see their Southern Lights Display and other fun Christmas activities. Except for Heidi not feeling well, we had a wonderful time and it was a great way to kick off our Christmas festivities.
~
After seeing the lights and on our way to see Santa we ran in to this fun horse the girls loved meeting
Holden and Jackson anxiously awaiting their turn in line to tell Santa what they'd like for Christmas ;)
Nonna, Jackson and Reagan waiting in line to see Santa
Santa! The line was much better this year than last (we got there when they opened) but trying to get a picture with 5 kids between the ages of 2 1/2 mon and 3 1/2 yrs wasn't any easier! lol :)

My three little munchkins with Santa
Jackson's first Santa visit

My "Who needs Santa when you have Grandmas?" picture :)
Holden and Heidi with Santa
Heidi wasn't feeling well so Uncle Dan's family had to leave after seeing Santa. :( After they left and on our way outside to explore all the other activities we ran into Frosty the Snowman. It was very exciting and the girls couldn't stop hugging him in order for me to get a picture of their faces. lol :)

Grammy, Mommy and the kids enjoyed a fun train ride together

Reagan loved her camel ride last year. She talked about it throughout the year so we knew if they had them again this year it would be something we definitely needed to do. We were able to locate the camels right away and the girls enjoyed rides with the help of Grammy and Nonna.

Upon Reagan's request Grammy treated the girls to pony rides too

After riding the camels and the ponies we decided to check out the petting zoo. Let me tell you, it was the neatest petting zoo ever! Besides all the regular animals you would expect like calves and goats, they had camels, zebras, wallabies, minature ponies, emus - all sorts of different animals. It was so much fun and we'll definitely do this again next year!
After riding the adult camels outside Grammy and Nonna helped the girls feed Camel calves in the petting zoo. So cool!

Feeding a zebra!
By the end of the petting zoo Kennedy had learned to place the carrots flat on her hand to feed the animals. She was quite proud of herself and discussed how to feed the animals correctly with us for days afterwards.
Wallabies
Nonna was able to get the baby Emus to walk over to the edge of the cage for Kennedy to check out
As we were leaving Kennedy started calling us individually by name saying "Tell you something, Mommy" or "Tell you something, Grammy" etc. When you asked "What?" she would exclaim "Funny, ha, ha, ha!" and start laughing hysterically like she'd just told you the best joke ever. It was pretty funny especially because she was cracking herself up so much.
A fun picture with a big Nutcracker!
Daddy and Grand-dad (we're still working out options for Pop-A-Lops) were along as well, we just somehow managed not to get any pictures with them. Thank you to everyone for the fun outing to begin the Christmas season!
