Dancing Reagan and Raisins :)

The last Saturday in January I took Reagan to a make up dance class since she had been sick for her regular Tuesday afternoon class. For a couple of weeks prior to that she had been talking about wanting to do the Dancing Raisins experiment again as well as wanting to make "Ants on a Log" (which we'd never done before but it's part of one of her Kai Lan Leapster Explorer games). I had purchased the ingredients and we decided Saturday after dance would be a great time since to do an experiment and cook since Daddy would be home to help with Jackson. Well, I don't know if it was because she was in her dance clothes or had been to dance or what but Tim and I kept talking about Dancing "Reagans" instead of "Raisins."

Our Dancing Reagan
On to the Dancing Raisins... lol :) I love the expressions of the girls while they're doing various parts of the experiment and waiting for results. Those big eyes are so expressive and those gorgeous smiles are amazing! You can see how intensely interested they are in some of these pictures and I just love it!
Smelling the vinegar
Adding the baking soda
What's going to happen?
Over it goes!
Kennedy's turn
Over it goes again!
Learning is so much fun!
Adding our raisins
Waiting for the dancing to commence
Jackson couldn't wait for the dancing to start either! :)
Since our dancing raisins weren't dancing we decided to move on to making "Ants on a Log" while we waited for the raisins to get to work :)
Hard at work
Eating them might be harder work than making them! lol :)
Reagan loved creating and eating this snack!

It may have been a bit messy...
Since our raisins still weren't dancing when we were finished with our snack, we experimented with adding additional amounts of vinegar and baking soda as well as different size raisins. Finally we figured it out and as Kennedy would say "Ta Da!" our raisins began to dance!

Love my little scientists!
