This week we did a super cool science experiment one afternoon. It was called "Dancing Raisins" and explored the idea of buoyancy using water, vinegar, baking soda and raisins.

If anyone would like to try this out, it's super easy and fun! Here's what you need to do: Fill a glass half full of water. Add four tablespoons of vinegar to the water. Add three teaspoons of baking soda (watch out and do this slowly because it really fizzes!). Drop five raisins into the glass one at a time. At first they'll sink but eventually they will begin to rise and fall as the carbon dioxide bubbles attach themselves to the raisins. When the raisins reach the surface of the water the bubbles (carbon dioxide gas) escapes and the raisins will sink. This process continues for quite a while and is so cool to watch! :)
