March Weekend Visit to Tennessee

We went to Tennessee the beginning of March to have Jackson's 6 month pictures taken and visit our Tennessee family and friends. As always we had a great time and appreciated everyone making time to see us!

~

The girls love to help GrandDad inflate the air mattress in the den. Reagan couldn't even wait for GrandDad to begin filling up the air matress before she started jumping on it. :)

Waiting for the ride up Pushing the air round as the matress inflates
So much fun! :)
Reagan loves her Pop-A-Lops
We visited one of my favorite people in the world this trip. I worked with Illene Qualls while I was in college on the University Programming Council, Homecoming Committee and Up 'Til Dawn. She is an amazing lady who keeps you laughing. She invited the girls to come swimming in her pool this summer with her grandkids so we'll hopefull be seeing her again before too long!
We picked up lunch and spent the afternoon with Grammy in her classroom. I think we have three little musicians in the making.

Jackson did his best to help Grammy teach her class

Reagan enjoyed participating in the class activities
She also read a book to a couple of Grammy's younger classes
Kennedy eventually decided to join in the class activities too
The girls enjoyed playing the instruments between Grammy's classes

After school we headed over to Grand Dad's building at TTU to see a cool balloon art exhibit that was still on display. It was pretty amazing!

Jackson received special attention while the girls enjoyed the exhibit
Of course the girls needed to ride the elevator and enjoyed looking down on us in the lobby
Friday evening Jackson met Great Grandpa and Grandma Gensler for the first time. He thought they were pretty cool. :)

Helping GrandDad make his famous blueberry muffins for breakfast Saturday morning
The girls had a great time with their new scooters from Grammy
Kennedy also enjoyed helping GrandDad sweep the deck - she loves to sweep anywhere, anytime!
Kennedy discovered a fun new game with GrandDad and the deck chairs lol :)
We had one sad event while visiting Tennessee. Since our last visit Grammy and GrandDad's siamese cat, Magnolia, passed away. Reagan has always loved Magnolia. Since the beginning of the year Reagan has also been very interested/concerned about death and dying. We have discussed it at length. I was a little worried about Maggie's passing but Tim wasn't sure Reagan would notice. Well, she noticed Maggie was missing almost right away and was extremely distraught when she learned she had died. She decided it would make her feel better to make a card for Maggie and take to the place she was buried. Grammy also let Reagan put a flower on Maggie's grave.

Grammy purchased a new vehicle just before we arrived too
Kennedy enjoying a good book with Grammy
Kennedy loves avacados and guacamole - she basically ate this entire dish of it when we met the Kelly's at El Tapatio for dinner Saturday evening
Reagan and I had some fun with my camera and lights Saturday night while Grand Dad prepared a campfire for s'mores

Kennedy excited about chocolate
GrandDad brought out a light for the girls to try
Helping Grand Dad put the mattress away is almost as much fun as getting it out
Jackson enjoying a nap with Grammy on the swing
Grammy already had such beautiful Buttercups the beginning of March! We all enjoyed them and the bouquets the girls helped her pick and she sent home with us. Thank you Grammy!

I don't know what silly Kennedy was doing lying down on the ground with her flowers. I guess just loving life! :)
