Stiriz Spring Break Visit

My best friend, Kelly, and her kids came up to visit us during their Spring Break in March. We had an awesome time and I hope they make it a tradition to spend Spring Break with us! :)

~

Chaz was amazing with the little guys all week long. Bless his heart, here he is starting out his week trying to play Chess with Reagan and Anna! What a sweetheart!

It happenned to be St. Patrick's Day during the week they were here so we did many (many) green activities. One thing I had recently read about doing to help kids learn how to write is to use sand or salt (vs a pencil). I can't believe how well it works. It's like magic! Anyhoo... we had been using salt but in the spirit of being festive we added green sand to the mix! :) You can always count on Aunt Arla for a super fun package! She sent us a whole box of green items to help us celebrate! Thank you so much!!! :)
Chaz was amazing with Jackson!!! As a matter of fact, I told him at one point during the week I thought I needed a Chaz and he should move here. Without missing a beat he told me very matter of factly "I can't because I have to be to school by 8:00 every morning." I told him we have schools up here as well but he was afraid his teacher would think he had quit. Kelly later told me, however, Chaz told Charlie they should move up here and we even have schools here! So cute! What a kid! :)
Chaz really got the girls going on the puppet theatre during the week. Here you can see all three girls watching him perform with our hare and frog puppets.

Dan, Dorothy, Heidi and Holden came over a couple of evenings to visit too. Holden and Jackson are becoming such great buddies. I thought this picture of all three guys hanging out was super cute! :)
Anna joined Reagan for her dance class and they were so adorable! I just love these pictures of them! Typically we're not allowed in the class so it was a real treat to see what they do and especially to be able to take pictures with a friend there! :) I've also included some video of them at the end of this post.

One evening for dessert everybody helped make some festive green milkshake Again, Chaz was so good playing with Jackson! :) One morning we had green eggs and ham for breakfast - they tasted better than they looked although Anna surely didn't think so! We had pretty yucky weather for most of the week so we enjoyed being able to get outside and play one afternoon I don't remember why, but for some reason Kennedy decided to carry her scooter and she was telling me "I Hercules! I Hercules!" A big St. Patrick's Day cookie with a Pot 'O Gold to enjoy :) Chaz and Aunt Dorothy enjoying a good game of checkers. Tim and Chaz got in a couple of games of Chess as well. I LOVE this picture of Missy Reagan and her two best friends! I don't think it gets any sweeter or more precious than this! :)St. Patrick's Day fell on Thursday which is typically our busiest day of the week between violin lessons and Co-op. Anna joined us for all our activities and Kelly took Chaz to a movie and to have a fun day in general without all the little ones. While out they picked up a treat for the girls to enjoy when we got home. TinkerBell Rollerskates! How fun! Thanks so much! Everyone bouncing on the trampoline This was an impossible picture to take... I might just do another post with some of the out-takes from this photo session. I have to admit some of them are pretty darn funny. :) Cute kids The girls tried for a repeat of their bubble bath when Kelly and Anna were visiting last August. Reagan and Kennedy have been asking for one ever since and we've been telling them it's something they can only do when Anna is here. So it was no surprise to me when the idea came up. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on whose point of view you are considering) my jets don't seem to be working quite right lately and so they don't have the same force to create the same magnitude of bubbles these days. They still had fun playing with the bubbles that were created. :) We ate lots of green food for St. Patricks Day. Our supper was Green Mashed Potatos, Green Peas, Green Beans, Green Jello (which actually wasn't quite ready for supper) and for dessert Green ice cream! We also painted the girls finger nails and toe nails green but I forgot to get a picture, can you believe that? I can't either! :) Anyhoo... we have kind of a running joke between Kennedy and Reagan regarding loving pickles or not. Because of that I picked up a big jar of big pickles for them to try out. I forgot them on St. Patrick's Day but we/they were able to enjoy (???) them the following day. :) Best friends enjoying one last night while watching a movie and eating popcorn and M&Ms together I just couldn't decide between these last three precious pictures of Anna and Jackson together so I decided I would just post them all :) Run and Leap
