The Nutcracker Ballet

On Sunday afternoon, December 19, Grammy, Aunt Dorothy, and Heidi went to the Lexington Ballet's performance of the Nutcracker Ballet with Reagan and me. I went last year with the Hamlins and this year was even better! I especially loved being able to share the experience with Reagan.

Both Reagan and Heidi thought it was wonderful. I wasn't surprised by this, however, because the Lexington Ballet Company is who Reagan takes ballet classes with. We frequently see the professional dancers finishing up their practice before Reagan's class begins. There was one afternoon last Fall in particular where three of the ballerinas were rehearsing and all the little girls in Reagan's class were absolutely mesmerized by them. It was literally a dozen three year old little girls crowding around a door stock still and silent watching these beautiful dancers. It was priceless. I so wish I had had my camera with me. One of the other mothers said she needs a couple ballerinas to come live at her house and I had to agree that as amazingly quite as all those little girls were that it would be nice! :)

Reagan's dance instructor, Ms. Gina, told us we could come back stage after the performance to see her. We did that which was neat and then we were able to go to the tea with Clara which the girls really loved. They were able to have a couple of snacks and meet many of the dancers. Reagan was a little shy at first for some reason but once she warmed she couldn't get enough autographs and pictures. :)

Reagan with the Sugar Plum Fairy
Reagan was initally very shy around the Sugar Plum Fairy and she was so sweet and made such an effort to make Reagan feel comfortable. She was so sweet and nice and definitely made Reagan's day in the end. :)

For some reason Reagan is still talking about how brave she was to get her picture taken with the Nutcracker Prince. He's pretty scary looking, huh? Who knows what goes on in that little brain of hers... lol :)

Thank you Grammy, Aunt Dorothy and Heidi for coming with us! We had a wonderful time and can't wait to do it again next year!
