Snow Much Fun! :)

We woke up Christmas morning to a beautiful new layer of snow. While Grammy and Grand-dad got up early and left for Wisconsin the day after Christmas we were able to spend a good portion of the day enjoying all that fresh new snow.
~
We have the perfect hill for sledding with little kids in front of our house. It's steep enough to go the perfect speed for little guys and short enough that it's easy to get back up without wearing them out too quickly. It's also nice because they can walk back up our driveway and front steps which is sometimes easier than plowing through the snow for those short little legs. :) Then we decided we should try having a race but the red sled doesn't slide so well
Then Kennedy and I had a go together

Next Daddy and Kennedy enjoyed a trip down our hill
We also had a few trips down the hill with just the girls

Reagan and Daddy decided to try their luck

Oops!
Reagan and Daddy decided to have a snowball fight. Unfortunately the snow wasn't very sticky, so it was more like throwing handfuls of snow but they still had fun. :)
Kennedy enjoyed trying to eat the "snowballs"
As we progressed to the backyard to play Reagan decided to make a snow angel
Kennedy decided she would try it out too, although she had a hard time getting her arms and legs to work at the same time :)
Jackson was a great cooperator and slept for most of the time we were outside all snuggled up in his carseat. What a honey bear! :)
I love these pictures of Tim and Kennedy!!!

Even though the snow was powdery we decided to try our hand at a snowman. We usually play in the snow while Daddy is at work so I really thought with both of us outside it was about the best opportunity to try and build one this year.
We decided our best bet was to pack snow into some of our outdoor toy tubs

Then we realized that our beach toys might be useful (or at least fun) too
Reagan wanted to take a turn with our big snow shovel and help fill the tub

Kennedy worked so hard to help with one of our little sand shovels. Bless her heart it was quite a challenge to use that small shovel with her thick mittens. Poor girl!
To help the snow stick we pulled out the hose and doused our snow blocks
Kennedy decided she wanted to use the big shovel too so Daddy helped her out with that endeavor
Jackson woke up for a bit and was a pretty happy little dude - love this picture of us! :)
Kennedy was getting tired and hungry by the end of our playtime and she kept falling down and saying she couldn't get back up. Tim had gone to try and help her but she was unhappy with that as well. So he picked her up and was tossing her in the snow which was entertaining to all of us if not to poor Missy K...
The girls love it when our neighbor, Lady, comes to visit
After some creativity and work we managed to get our square snowman put together. Aunt Arla gave us a super cool snowman kit so we were able to use it for the perfect hat, mittens, face, buttons etc.
I announced it complete but Reagan reminded us we needed to find stick arms for him as well

Daddy and his girls with Frosty
Before we could go in the girls needed to sit at their picnic table and eat just a little more snow
Reagan thought the snow on top of the picnic table umbrella might be good to eat
About all she managed, however, was to dump a ton of snow in her face. I'm glad she thought it was so funny! lol :)
Reagan has been in heaven with all the snow we've been receiving. Anytime it starts to melt she is a bit distraught. She has told me a number of times she does not like Fall or rain! She also doesn't like the Frosty the Snowman song that says "he'll be back again someday." She does not want him to go in the first place! Such a little nut, but I'm glad we've had so much snow for her to enjoy this year! :)

What a super fun family day we enjoyed together in the snow!!! :)
