New Kids on The Block - Concert #2

Kelly and I had so much fun at the NKOTBSB concert in June we decided we had to go again and purchased even better tickets for the Louisville concert on Wednesday, July 20. We watched like Hawks to see if they were going to have an after party since we missed the one in Nashville. Even though it was never officially announced we figured out that there was one potentially planned at Sully's. We went there for dinner to check it out and learned that it was the place scheduled for the after party but due to low ticket sales they weren't officially allowed to have an after party. They were still hopeful (and we were both hopeful and convinced) that at least Donnie and possibly one other New Kid would make an appearance after the show. We were pretty excited especially since we had 4th row tickets! :)New Kids on the Block or as Kelly says "Our Boys" :) (As a side note, they took my camera away as we entered the YUM! Center because they said it was a professional one. What??? Thank goodness Kelly brought her camera to do some video taping! After a while she let me have her camera because I apparently can't live without a camera in my hands... lol :)JoeJordanJoeDonnieThought I should include some Back Street Boys pictures too especially since I got a couple of good ones. :) This must be his son, it was so sweet in anycase. He was blowing kisses and everything it was adorable!

So, we left the concert early in order to get back to Sully's before the rush. On our way back we even met some of the servers we had become friends with earlier at dinner coming over to the concert to tell people to come to Sully's. When we got there we checked back with the manager (we had a food mess up earlier but the up shot was meeting the manager) to see if he had heard anything else. They were playing NKOTB music, had extra staff and security and we were able to get several people to tell us that hypothetically some celebrity might be coming and if said person came where the best place to sit would be... I really think they thought at least Donnie was going to make an unofficial appearance. Well, around 1:30 in the morning Donnie started tweeting about being on a plane and heading back to film Blue Bloods... I showed the text to the manager and at that point we decided no one was coming. By the time we headed back it was around 2:00 in the morning. Ugh! At least we had hired baby-sitters to spend the night so we were able to sleep in the next morning. Kelly still wants to go to another concert and get the super good tickets to meet them but I have to admit this experience kind of took the wind out of my sails. We'll have to see if I'm pumped back up in a year or two or not. On the other hand it's probably just as well that we didn't meet anyone because that would have just fueled the fire and as a mother of 3 and in my 30's I probably don't really need to be chasing these guys around the country. lol :) Having said that, I'm so glad we had the opportunity this summer to live out some childhood dreams. We were completely infatuated with the New Kids as pre-teens and beyond distraught when we couldn't attend their concert. It was awesome to finally be able to live that dream out! :) Our girls will benefit from this as well as Kelly and I will make sure Reagan, Kennedy and Anna get to attend any concert they are remotely interested in and especially if they believe their exsistence depends on attending. It was definitely fun getting back in touch with my youth but also good to know that my life is pretty good even without the New Kids being a constant part of it! :) Tim and Charlie may not be Joe and Donnie but I think Kelly and I did pretty well and have wonderful children, families, and lives to show for it! :)
