My little guy is turning into such a big guy! I can't believe that I'm almost done with his duck posts! Where has this year gone?!?!?
~
He had his 9 month checkup on Monday, July 25, (we were a bit behind due to travel and other activities but I don't mind in general because I'm not super excited about all those vaccintions!) and he was slightly above the 50% percentile for height and slightly under the 50% for weight. The doctor said he looked great and was doing everything at or ahead of schedule.

This month Jackson has discovered a love of reading. He's been interested in books prior to this but now he loves them! He will not go to sleep if you have not read him at least one of his books. love it! :) His favorite books are Brown Bear, Brown Bear, Heads, and an ABC book that has slides with pictures behind the letters. Basically anything that has any movement or something he can touch he is completely mesmerized by. We've read as many as 8 books before naptime and he would keep going if I would. The first week he really discovered Brown Bear, Brown Bear he would laugh so hard he would be hiccuping in the first 3-4 pages. What a little nut! The girls have always enjoyed that book but I don't remember either of them getting quite this excited or thinking it was anywhere near hilarious. lol :) I'm not sure who has more fun during reading time, Jackson or me watching him. :)

My little man is serious about his food! He is pretty opinated about what he wants and he has developed quite the appetite in the past month. Aunt Julie and Uncle Chuck can certainly attest to this from their visit in late July. One morning at breakfast Jackson was having a total meltdown and Aunt Julie and I couldn't figure out what was going on. I somehow finally realized he wanted Blueberry Waffles. After I figured that out he proceeded to eat 3! He kept that up for a couple of weeks but now is down to eating just 2 every morning. lol :) This boy loves his food and if he sees it on your plate he knows he needs it on his! :)

Jackson has started doing some freestanding but is no where close to walking. He loves to pull up on things and cruise around them but he doesn't have any interest in you holding his hands and helping him walk. Maybe that's part of his independent streak? I really have no prediction as to whether or not he'll be walking by the time he is one but he's on his way.

Jackson still only has 2 bottom teeth. They are the cutest little two teeth though and I love all the priceless smiles I'm capturing of him!

Speaking of priceless smiles and pictures I can't wait to post the super adorable pictures I captured of him after taking his duck picture. He was in such an awesome mood that afternoon! To his credit he is usally in a super good mood it's just when he's not that you better watch out!

We love you Mr. Jackson and I'll have to you extra snuggles this month since I can see my baby dissappearing and a toddler emerging much faster than I'm ready for!
