Hermie - Our Elf on the Shelf

For the second year we were visited by one of Santa's elves during the month of December. Our elf is named Hermie. He did a great job of checking in on the girls throughout the month as well as playing a couple of fun tricks on us. Here are Tim and the girls reading the "Elf On The Shelf" book before locating Hermie in their bedroom the first night he arrived.Hermie started off in the girl's room where he could keep a good eye on whether they went to bed nicely or not. ;)Like all of Santa's elves, Hermie hid all over the house after flying back from the North Pole each night. One morning we woke up to discover he was in our refrigerator and had colored one of our gallons of milk green! lol :)Another morning we woke up to Hermie with our Rudolph book, red paint and this note. This happenned one weekend when Grammy and Grand-Dad were visiting in December. The girls were sleeping with Grammy and noticed each other's noses before they even saw the note. I need to have Grammy clarify but I think Reagan woke up first and exclaimed "Kennedy your nose is red!" to which Kennedy defiantly replied "No it's not!!!" Then she saw Reagan and exclaimed "Reagan, your nose is red!!!" General excitement then ensued as they ran around the house waking up everyone to discover who had had their noses painted by Hermie. He also left the girls new paints that evening. It was awesome! lol :) My 3 favorite little rudolphsWe have gotten surprisingly little snow this year. It's been a source of great dissapointment around here. Hermie, and Elden (Grammy and Grand-Dad's elf who came to visit our house when they came for Christmas) must have been missing the snow at the North Pole too because one morning just before Christmas we woke up to find they had made snow angels out of sugar and left us a book about snow and hibernation as well.

The girls were so sad Christmas Eve when Hermie had to fly back home for the last time. We've decided Hermie may need to make an appearance or two throughout the year to monitor behavoir in our house. You've never seen kids so excited to clean up the basement as the morning Hermie decided to hide down there to see if all the toys were picked up. Thank you for your visit Hermie. We can't wait to see you again in December, or before if you should decide to make a surprise sneak visit! :)
