Southern Lights 2011

One of my favorite Christmas traditions since moving to Kentucky is going to Southern Lights at the Kentucky Horse Park. It is so much fun and I love the group Santa pictures, even if we haven't ended up with a great one yet.,, I know it's only a matter of time! Thank you so much to Uncle Dan, Aunt Dorothy, Heidi, Holden, Grammy and Grand-Dad for joining in the fun. It wouldn't be the same without you! Holden and Uncle Dan were looking at model trains but this picture turned out so well of four of our little elves that I had to lead off with it. After driving through the park and seeing the lights our first official stop is to see Santa (before the line becomes too long - we made that mistake our first year but have been much smarter ever since and get there when it's opening!)Our picture with Santa. It's a great of Reagan, right? lol :) Hugs for SantaProof that we at least attempted a group shot of Santa with all 5 kids. I was talking to someone else about this the week afterwards and I think from now on we should take a group shot with all the adults as well. Why not, right? Especially if it makes all the kids happy! :)Heidi and Holden's picture turned out a bit better than ours.Cute CousinsHow adorable is this picture I caught of Heidi and Reagan sharing secrets? I absolutely love this precious cousins picture!!!After seeing Santa we headed over to the petting zoo which was again awesome this year! I can't believe all the animals they have! Here Reagan and Heidi are feeding goats and a baby camel. The camel has the carrot Kennedy just gave him - taking good animal/kid pictures is next to impossible!Jackson loved feeding all the animals and did a great job at it with Daddy's assistance! These Wallaby's are definitely some of the coolest animals you can see/feed/pet. Jackson stood here for the longest time watching them and reaching his little hands through to try and touch them. Jackson's patience paid off and this little wallaby was eventually extremely obliging!Have I mentioned that my son is one ornery little critter? This is the look he ususally reserves for sweet little old ladies who try to talk to him but apparently he decided to share it with this sweet wallaby as well...I guess he decided he was alright after all :)Back to feeding animals! :)After feeding camels it was time to ride on them! :) For the third year Reagan took a camel ride and this year everyone, even Jackson, was big enough to join in the fun. The girls were even able to ride it by themselves! Daddy and his sweet Elly Melly :)The only thing we really had to wait for was the train ride but it was such a gorgeous night the kids had a good time playing with each other even then.On the way out the girls decided they needed to pose in front of the large Christmas tree - what cute little divas we have! :)Grammy and Grand-Dad with Reagan, Jackson and Kennedy I love this tradition and can't wait to do it with you all again next year!
